Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
Kamand is operated by Bashir Bandi in Sydney, Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through kamand.co, why we collect it, who sees it, and how you can ask us to access, correct or delete it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you send us an enquiry
Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address and phone number, and may ask for your business name, website, the kind of help you are after, the size of your business, your budget range and a short message. We collect only what you choose to enter, and the answers help us reply with something useful.
When you email us or book a conversation
We keep the emails and notes from our conversations so we can follow up, scope the work and remember what we agreed.
When you download or buy one of our products
For free downloads such as MDView or Alien Player, we collect your email address to send the download link and occasionally to tell you about important updates to that product. Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
When you visit the site
We measure how the site is used with Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we run ourselves on a server in Sydney, so this data stays in Australia. It records things like pages viewed, referring site, device type and approximate location. It does not use cookies for tracking and does not follow you across other websites.
Session replays
We also record a sample of visits to this site as session replays, using the same Umami server in Sydney. A replay shows clicks, scrolling, mouse movement and the pages visited, so we can see where people get stuck and improve the site. Anything typed into a form field is masked and is not recorded. If you have a concern about this, email us.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and to follow up on the conversation, including by email, phone or text.
- To prepare proposals and deliver the work you ask us to do.
- To deliver downloads and purchases and to support them.
- To understand which pages help people, so we can improve the site.
- To meet our tax, accounting and legal obligations.
Text and email messages
When you send us an enquiry with your phone number or email address, you agree that we may contact you about that enquiry by phone, email and text message. That includes replying to you, following up on quotes and proposals, and checking in if we have not heard back. We will not use your details for unrelated marketing, and we will only add you to a newsletter or ongoing marketing list if you ask us to.
Our messages say they come from Kamand. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or emailing sales@kamand.co. We stop sending within five business days of your request, and usually straight away.
These messages are sent under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). We keep a record of when and how you gave your details so we can show your consent.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers that help us run the business, such as website hosting, email and payment processing, and only so they can provide that service to us. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle it appropriately. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use advertising pixels or track you across other websites.
- We do not ask for card details through the enquiry form.
Keeping it safe and how long we keep it
Information sent through our forms is transmitted over an encrypted connection, and access to it is limited to the people who need it to respond. We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with you and to follow up, then delete or de-identify them. Invoices and purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. If you ask us to delete your information we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email sales@kamand.co and we will respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
